Synopsis
In the aftermath of World War II, all the countries of Eastern Europe occupied by the Red Army fall under the domination of Soviet Russia. How did the USSR get its hands on these countries? How did the Soviet model manage to control the daily lives of millions of Europeans in the shadow of the Iron Curtain?
Through the intimate testimonies of inhabitants who lived through the totalitarian transformation of their countries (Hungary, Poland and East Germany), director Tania Rakhmanova who herself grew up in the USSR, tells the story of the forced sovietization of Eastern Europe, from 1944 to the construction of the Berlin Wall in August 1961.
