François Mitterrand, What Happened to the Love?

What remains of François Mitterrand? What’s left of the man and his path? Beyond the picturesque character and the old man facing death, what happened to the political achievements carried out by France’s first socialist president of the 5th Republic? The death sentence was abolished, certainly. Social measures were initiated. And especially Europe. But the Mitterrand era uncovered both its limitations and corruption. The man’s ambiguities cast shadows on the position he held. During his annual televised holiday wishes, François Mitterrand made this incredible promise to the French people: “I believe in the power of the spirit, and I will never leave you. » Has he really kept his promise?
