Synopsis
8 May 1945, early in the morning: Paris, London and Berlin wake up. The German capital is devastated, a huge pile of ruins that still smokes. In Paris and London, people prepare to celebrate and soon rumours of victory reach New York... Four cities have just come out of the war...
In each of these capitals, four women glimpse the end of a world and the beginning of a new era: Madeleine the French, Margaret the American, Nancy the English and Traudl the German. Four destinies forged by the ordeals of an unprecedented conflict. The end of the hostilities triggers a flood of emotions and memories in their minds. Through their eyes and their experience, we relive the decisive years they have just gone through...
